GENEVA, Ill. — Inspired by the popularity of cooking shows, GreenFields of Geneva senior living community has launched an exciting new culinary series for residents. The inaugural class featured sushi making, led by the dining team at GreenFields.
Residents from independent and assisted living learned to prepare vegetable avocado rolls, with demonstrations both at the front of the room and on iPad screens for a closer view. “It was fun, and we were surprised how much we loved the taste,” a resident said.
The new culinary demonstrations will be a regular part of life at GreenFields, offering residents hands-on opportunities to learn, taste, and explore new cuisines. The first session was such a hit that participants were still talking about it the next day, especially when the day’s “travelogue” lunch featured California rolls.
This program is part of GreenFields of Geneva’s The Lived Experience program developed to reflect the community’s culture of creativity, engagement, and connection, while proving that life here is deliciously full of flavor.
